Crazy Late Night Antics II
Time: 4:53 am
Place: RJ420

R: Hey Font, I'm shining the laser into my eye.
F: That's not a good thing, Ray.
R: *shines the optical light of his mouse into his eye* Ahhhhhh my eyes are burning!!!
F: ...

I don't think "insanity" even describes it.
Crazy Late Night Antics I
Time: 4:33 am
Place: RJ420

R: *peers into a box of Danish Butter Cookies he is eating* Hey look, there's a broken cookie in here!
F: *looks at a broken cookie at the bottom of the box* Yeah?
R: It's like some sort of futuristic symbol!!!
F: ... *stares*
R: A futuristic symbol IN MY STOMACH!!! *quickly eats pieces of the cookie accompanied by unneccessarily loud eating sounds*
F: ... *stares*

I really need to get out of here soon... this place is really getting to some people. (confirmation: and yes, he really did do a monkey dance after drinking some Vanilla Coke)

-- Just another 2 months, Fontaine. You can do this. C'mon, just hang in there... don't let me down now sanity ol' boy... --

Blah! Its been so long since I last blogged! Darn, I said I was going to to this more often! I blame MusicFest 2003, making me work 8:30am to 10:30pm for almost everyday of my reading week. Aside from the tiring days though, it was great fun especially being able to see lots of friends. On a side note, if any of the stage crew volunteers are reading this, thanks a lot for your help - you guys were great. Being able to listen to all the bands as well (yes this is the old music geek side of me) was such a huge bonus. Now I really want to get my hands on an euphonium (or baritone) and play again. Listening to October (by Eric Whitacre) played by the UHS Winds was beautiful - we played it last year in band and the nostalgia of listening to another band play it really well was great. The Markham DHS Wind Symphony was amazing though (as always) playing extremely challenging music at a high performance level - I'm trying not to be biased here. Honest! (although as one learns in PSY100, it would be impossible for me to claim that I am not being affected by a bias of some sort). Armenian Dances (by Alfred Reed) blew everyone listening away I think... just crazy. Great stuff.

I tried to blog on Sunday but I couldn't because blogger was down - and that was the only day I could spare the time to update. And do you know why time was so sparse? PSYCHOLOGY!!! P-S-Y-C-H-O-L-O-G-Y!!! AHHHHHHH!!!! After studying almost every free waking moment, (except for occasional Freecell game - 87% win, 250 games) its finally all over now... the beast has been slain. At least for a month and some until exams - then it stops being dead and will probably own me hard.

Today, I realised what was the cause of much disruption and annoyance here at RJ420. I had found the monster that ruins studying for everyone. Its not someone or something that one might usually suspect, with his cheery smile and lax posture effectively disarming any suspicions. From his thin rimmed glasses and his seemingly intelligent babble, it can be easily understood how a person might mistake his nature to be diligent and studious. As it is, no two adjectives could be farther from the truth. Today, Kevin "The Yellow Dart" Hung showed his true face of villiany today as the rest of us poor saps were attempting a last ditch attempt to cram psychology knowledge into our heads. Not only did he not study much himself, but he behaved in a very detrimental manner. From blaring hip-hop to singing to snapping with his toes to making all manners of stupid comments, all study attempts were foiled countless number of times. Detrimental I say! I don't even know who invites him over anymore; today, for example, he just appeared in our room as Raymond and I had just gotten up. Imagine being greeted by this when you get up, then realise that I have it worse off; it was THIS manifestation of ugliness greeted me this morning. Needless to say, I lost my breakfast this morning - well I missed it anyway. (and I probably shouldn't have gone to lunch either, damn deli sandwiches making me sick every time...)

I went back home Thursday night so that I could be home on Friday for Valentine's Day and spend it with Joyce. Bleh. Sometimes things just aren't destined to work out I guess; I think that was the worst Valentine's Day I've ever had. Probably worse than what any of you reading this at the moment had. *sigh* Well, actually it may not have been the worst; my roommate's b/f invited her over to his house to meet the parents... some V-Day present, yikes. Well in any case, things are better with Joyce now, better than they've been for a while actually. Hopefully, we've reached a turning point and, as they say, the best is yet to come.

"The cold times drift about in dreams,
But are caught and held in your hands.
When I woke up from the countless wishes,
You are reflected in a shimmering illusion -
The silhouette whose faint smile leads me along."
Ahh!! Wow, it has really been a long time.. 2 WEEKS almost!!! I promise to blog more often... or the next couple weeks at least.

Well to recap Thursday, I went to my first Victoria College Dragonboat team practice... Ugh! I don't even want to know how it feels after one of Ray's Polish Combat sessions. I was sore all over... if you had push me over I would have probably been content to lay on the ground. I had no problem with the all the running (yay cardio!) but I don't think I've ever been more aware of that fact that I have not done any pushups since the 8th grade (for those that remember the crazy self-defense lessons in the gym with the big black man - "POOOOOSH UPS!") Ow, my triceps are STILL sore as I am typing this and it's Sunday! Quite obviously, those triceps exercises killed me too. I really slacked on those - with the pushups at least I did 83-84 of them out of 90. Semi-decent. To me at least. I think I'm going to die soon anyway because I'm told that, A) we had the supposedly easier coaches working us that day, B) it is supposed to get harder pretty quickly... Wayne tells me his team does sets of 50+ pushups. ... just spray me with the death already.

Speaking of Wayne's UC Team, Ray and I headed over to their pub night at O'Gradys after our team's workout to join Wayne and Kevin "Fattybear" Hung. Good fun with the four of us just chillin' and talking about stuff. It was tons of fun going deaf because someone had the bright idea of sitting RIGHT in front of the speakers, and watching as Kev was denied his black music song after song after song after song after... The food was pretty good there too, well maybe except for Wayne, who had the misfortune of ordering their Scottish Meat Pies. I still can't believe that Wayne Sang, muncher of all things tasty (and not), devourer of left-overs, lover of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes (They're gRRReat!), and general food monster, actually did not finish a meal. Of course there were other displays of fatness to make up for this surprising lack.

Close to the end of the evening when we were about to depart the staff gave us an appetizer platter on the house. Of course most of us were stuffed having ordered something large and, at least for the non-Wayne people, tasty. All hope seemed lost when that veritable mountain of food was thrown in front of our faces. I looked around for some way out of this mess that we were now stuck with... then I looked straight ahead across the table and found the solution. "There's chicken wings!" exclaimed a rather happy man, who shall remain unnamed. Sure enough, shortly after that comment several pieces of chicken dissappeared from the tray. In the end, with (very minimal) help from most of us at the table and the usual enthusiastic help from Fattybear(tm), our galliant hero was able to overcome the challenge and succeed in joining the exclusive Fattybear Club(tm). Congratulations you unnamed fat man. I hope you feel those bruchettas at your next workout... All in all though, a good time had by all. Cheers, to the UC team! (even though they'll get crushed eventually by the Vic team)

Wow its been a long time since last post... been busy (somewhat)

Well, finished up an essay at long last... how many more until the end of the year? ... *grumbles* I guess life is like that though, it never stops coming.
Now that I'm back in Markham, and finished all immediate work, I have to say... I really miss the land of Neverwinter. *sigh* Yeah, sad I know. Damn Wayne once more, since you can never really damn him enough, for forcing this upon my poor unprepared gamer mind (it's NOT returning to our roots dammit! it's NOT!). I can't wait to get our party operations organised because this rogue has some looting to do. (I'm the little guy on the right)

Well it is Chinese New Year's Eve today... err was yesterday I guess since I'm a late blogga. It was fun spending time with the family and all. My brother is even crazier (in a good way *smirk*) than I remember him to be. Losing his computer for almost a month must really be affecting him - the machine was randomly crashing, sometimes as soon as the power was turned on. I tried to see if anything in my bag of computer fix-it tricks could remedy the problem... First, I found that the BIOS was corrupt and I reset it to factory defaults and adjusted the CPU speed accordingly (P-3 667). The computer was still extremely wonky. I disconnected the CD drive because it had been causing problems for several months now and had been known to crash the computer in Windows when it was accessed. The computer was still acting retarded (making far more noise than should be normal) but at least I was able to get into Windows. Then it crashed. It did this again and again, each time crashing as it loaded the desktop. My original guess before the BIOS was that it was the power supply, but now I am suspecting that the OS is just messed up (which is extremely possible knowing the history of this machine). Hopefully I'll get to the bottom of this soon by means of a format and my brother can be happy again (and join me in NVN!!!) If one of you (yes you people reading into my life here) know better and have some helpful advice, let me know.
